So, as if not spending any of my money was actually going to get me anywhere, I went to the bookstore for the third time in a row today, but actually bought something. Four somethings! It was a whole, buy three get one off deal, as if that's much of a deal. I dipped into four different genres, just because I need something to do and apparently don't have enough unread books on my shelves right now. I got:

+ Zombie Blondes. "They're beautiful. They're popular. They're dead." Says so right on the cover. It's from the teen section, which I haven't bought a book out of for myself in like, forever. Those books never have enough words to make the worth the money, but come on, zombies! Fuck all that vampire noise, zombies are beyond where it's at. Zombie blondes. That shit is catchy. Besides, if I'm going to write my own young adult novel, I need to see how the heck to do it.

+ No Country for Old Men. Epic movie, which I am beyond in love with, and ever since I read another Cormac McCarthy book I have been really excited to see how good this one is. It was the fourth book I picked up, because I knew that my dad would want to read it too, so I wouldn't feel greedy for getting four all for me.

+ Snuff, by Chuck Palahniuk, aka Fight Club and Choke dude. Neither of which I've actually read, I haven't read any of his books, but they had little synopses (what exactly is the plural of synopsis; synopses is what Google told me) of all of them in the last Playboy I bought, and this one sounded good. It's from the perspective of three guys involved in some porn queen's attempt at breaking a record and having sex with 600 guys on film.

+ My Booky Wook, Russell Brand's autobiography. Simply for the fact that heck freaking yes it's Russell Brand and he is amazing on every level, so why not on paper too? He amuses me to no end, so I am hoping to laugh at this book. And if not, there are pictures, and pictures of Russell Brand are impossible to be a bad thing.

I went to see My Sister's Keeper last night at the drive-in. Why? Well, while I actually hadn't decided whether I wanted to see it or not, this was my first weekend off this summer and my parents swore that no matter what was playing when I had the weekend off we'd go to the drive-in. I didn't dislike it, but it wasn't that great either. I liked everybody in it except for Cameron Diaz.

Went bathing suit shopping today. And got a new bathing suit. A bikini, actually, my first since I was like...four. I definitely don't have the celebrity bikini body, but fuck it, if I can't wear one at 19 I never will, but I didn't get the style I wanted. I was talked out of what I actually wanted once they started talking about support, because I do not need my boobies flying out. Then we went to the mall, which was actually the most depressing part of it. I have money in the bank. I certainly have enough money to buy everything that I wanted at the mall, but I didn't buy a thing. I hate spending money. I talked myself out of everything I wanted there, lol, and then I was sad.

I'm only supposed to work three shifts a week, but a little while ago, one girl got fired so I had to cover one of her shifts, for four until we got a new guy. Now somebody else is getting fired and I have to go back to four and I hate it. Three is just enough and darn dandy, thank you. And if I'm not spending my money, then I definitely don't need the hours, haha. So...since my last post was so depressisad, I'm trying to keep it as normal as possible. Still working on the first novel. Still working on the first chapter of the first novel. It's not interesting yet, which sucks, but I know as soon as I can get passed all the boring, semi-intro stuff I'll have more fun with it.

So, at Transformers last night, they played the Half-Blood Prince and holy shit OMGWTFBBQ epic. Epic. Oh my gosh, it looks so good. I remember specifically thinking when I was reading it, "they won't be able to ignore Draco in this one!" Draco has always been my favourite character in the whole series, and they stopped doing him justice in the movies after Chamber of Secrets and holy kungpow, Half-Blood Prince and Draco look epically amazing. He looks sexy as hell, so good for Tom Felton. I was...I wasn't excited for Half-Blood Prince to come out, but I was ready and I already have plans, but now, oh my gosh. I'm just going to spend the entire movie squeeing my ass off. Oh, freakin' le sigh. I'm gonna have to get a Draco icon before the movie comes out.

I was tagged to do this meme like, at least ago. Maybe two. And I still haven't done it. I have no idea what people think about me, or expect of me, so I have no idea what kind of five facts would surprise my friends on here.

No spoilers, but Harper's Island was one of the saddest things ever this week. And that made it a great episode, I think. I don't know if other people will like it, but I thought it was really good.

It must have been all the luck that you guys wished me (thanks so much!) because I got my beginner's today! And better yet, it's not a horrible picture. Still haven't got the haircut, that's in a couple of hours, but I am now allowed to drive. With restrictions. And I can see putting off actually getting behind the wheel of a car for awhile, because the idea of controlling something like that kind of scares me, but hey, now I actually have the option. Thanks again to everybody who wished me well!

I have seen a Supernatural spoiler floating around behind a couple of cuts on my flist, but nope! I'm not looking. I refuse. Some shows I don't really care about spoilers for, some I do. I am almost interested, but meh, I can see it when I watch it.

From the flist: Name a fandom, and I'll give you the scoop on at least three of my unpopular opinions related to that fandom. I guess my main fandoms are Veronica Mars, Smallville, Friday Night Lights, Criminal Minds, Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles, As the World Turns, Supernatural, Harper's Island, One Tree Hill, but I don't really know what's popular/unpopular in a couple of them.

Since I have tomorrow off, I am making the trek (the trek, geesh, it's like a twenty minute walk, lol) downtown to get a haircut. Not the bad, nerve-wracking part. It needs to be cut, it's getting too long and my bangs are driving me up the wall. No, before I make my way over to get my haircut, I have plans to make my first ever attempt at getting my learner's. I have no idea how that's going to go. If I pass, I will be really surprised and it will probably be just barely. I don't really know why I'm saying it ahead of time, because if I don't pass I could just let it go without having to be embarrassed, but I guess I want to know: how many times it took you to pass/how hard was it/how long did you study for? All of my friends passed it the first time except for one or two, but all of my friends except for one took driver's ed beforehand too.

Goddamnit self! Learn a lesson! If something has a mystery, or a twist, or a secret or something that you don't want to know before you see it/finish watching it, STOP CHECKING THE WIKIPEDIA PAGE. Shouldn't there be some kind of editor who checks all Wikipedia pages pertaining to television shows not finished airing or movies not yet released to make sure that MAJOR PLOT POINTS AREN'T REVEALED? BECAUSE GUESS WHAT, THERE'S NOT. Why the hell would somebody even write a synopsis of something that revealed a major spoiler, other than for the purpose of pissing people off and completely ruining it for them. Wikipedia, and people, suck. Grr, there's almost no point in finishing the show (though I believe this spoiler a little less than the film spoiler) or going to see the movie, but I probably still will. But still, sucks.

12th-Jun-2009 01:05 pm - Star Trek 2009: McCoy/Chekov NC-17
Title: You Got Me Into This, Information Overload Situation Lost Control
Fandom: Star Trek 2009. It could be Star Trek TOS, but then it wouldn’t be these two GQMFs.
Disclaimer: I’m not Gene Roddenberry, JJ Abrams, or anybody else who ever had a part in Star Trek. And I’m not claiming them as my own.
Rating: NC-17
Pairing: Leonard McCoy/Pavel Chekov
Warnings: Chekov may still be seventeen in this story, I haven’t decided. Takes place after the movie but there are no spoilers for the movie.
Summary: The crew is on leave on Tellar Prime when Chekov throws Scotty’s scotch on a Tellarite. When he then proceeds to get punched in the face, McCoy, who had been hoping for an actual vacation, has to heal his ass. Chekov sees it as an opening to finally bring up the subject of them having sex together.

McCoy sighed heavily, reaching back to snatch one of Kirk’s shots off the bar. “Since you’ve got more experience in bar fights, how about I play back-up on this one?” )
